So who is Mark Shainblum and why should you care? I'm an
award-winning science fiction author and comic book writer
living in Montreal, one of the world's great cities. I've also
been known to dabble in editing, publishing, journalism, and
corporate communications and media relations. My science
fiction and fantasy has appeared in magazines like On Spec,
Would That It Were, A Thousand Faces, Cyber-Age
Adventures and anthologies like Island Dreams:
Montreal Writers of the Fantastic. In 1997, John Dupuis
and I co-edited Arrowdreams: An Anthology of Alternate
Canadas, which garnered two Aurora Awards the following
year. In comics I co-created the critically acclaimed indy superhero series Northguard and the bestselling humour series Angloman. I've also written the newspaper comic strip adventures of the classic Canadian superhero Captain Canuck and adaptations of Michael Moorcock's fantasy hero Corum for First Comics, among others. As a journalist, I've written for The Montreal Gazette, Montreal Mirror, Hour, Quill & Quire, Report on Business Internet Quarterly, SFSite.com and The Rover, among others. Most recently, I've stepped into the exciting new world of ebooks and e-comics, about which, see below.
New! My novella
Endogamy Blues is now available as an
audiobook from Iambik
Audiobooks and an ebook from Smashwords,
DriveThruFiction and Amazon.
